MAC honors Marine and Coast Guard Service Persons

The Military Affairs Committee of the Carteret County Chamber of Commerce paid tribute to an outstanding young Marine and a Coast Guardsman November 13 at the John C. Beitz Service Person of the Quarter Luncheon. 

The ceremony took place at the Crystal Coast Civic Center in Morehead City with the meal catered by Fat Fellas BBQ & Grille.

Those honored were Marine Lance Cpl. Allison App and Coast Guard 2nd Class Machinery Technician Dustin Messmer.

About 50 Chamber members and guests attended the event.

From the MAC, honorees received a U.S. flag, presented in a triangular wooden case with a glass top and a brass plaque signifying they are Service Persons of the Quarter.

MAC Chair David Heath (left) and Chamber Board Chair Kerry Youngblood (right) participated in the John C. Beitz Service of the Person Luncheon. They are pictured with Lt.
