Important update concerning the 2020 Reverse Drawing
The Carteret County Chamber of Commerce has decided to move away from its planned Virtual Reverse Drawing that was scheduled for August, and move in a different direction for future fundraising efforts.
“We realized that trying to hold our annual Reverse Drawing virtually would not be the same as our usual large-scale, in-person event that is held every summer at the Crystal Coast Civic Center,” said Anna Smith, Chamber Program Manager. “As a staff, we decided if we can’t hold it in our normal way in 2020, we would rather pursue other fundraising options.”
“It was not an easy decision, since the Reverse Drawing is a great event we spend all year looking forward to, but it felt like the right call,” Mrs. Smith said. “We wanted to ensure we did justice to this event, and hope to have it in its usual format next year.”
Instead, several fundraising options are being considered in the future that will benefit the Chamber of Commerce and hopefully its members. Details will be released at a later date.
Chamber President Tom Kies noted the staff continues to be hard at work, both in office and remotely, to help our members and assist the public. “As always, we are here to support our members and guide business toward them,” he said.
