Covid-19 Update: Phase 2.5 Reopening

North Carolina entered a Phase 2.5 reopening at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, 2020.

Under this new phase, mass gathering limits have slightly increased. Up to 25 people may be inside together, and 50 outside.

Additionally, playgrounds are permitted to reopen, as are aquariums, museums and fitness centers with limits. Locally, the N.C. Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores has announced its reopening date, and so has the N.C. Maritime Museum in Beaufort.

As of September, the Carteret County Chamber of Commerce is still open to the public only by a previously scheduled appointment and masks must be worn over the mouth and nose during that time. With the exception of Labor Day, there is limited staff in office each day. If you are seeking print materials, please call the office to make your request and it can be run out to you curbside. We appreciate your understanding as we continue to largely work remotely for the health and safety of our staff.
