COVID-19 Message: March 30th, 2020

A Message From Our President:

Dear Chamber Members and Friends:

As I’m sure you already know, the Governor has issued a Stay at Home order for the next 30 days to try to stem the spread of the Covid-19 virus. The public beach accesses and playgrounds throughout the county are closed, and all short-term rentals have been suspended until April 29. Restaurants are serving take-out, drive-thru or delivery only, and many other small businesses have had to adapt online to help customers and clients, while not physically on location.

For a tourist area such as ours, this is unprecedented and painful.

If a local business has an online presence, please purchase items or gift cards that way. We ask you to continue to support local restaurants by buying take-out or delivery.

But we also ask that you act responsibly and comply with the Stay at Home order and, if you are in a grocery store or pharmacy, remember to socially distance yourself from others. Wash your hands, and use hand sanitizer.

Show kindness and compassion to those around you. There’s light at the end of this tunnel.

The Carteret County Chamber of Commerce will continue to communicate with our members and the public at large and pass along relevant information. Let us know how we can help. Please note, our office is closed to the public until further notice, which includes all meetings previously scheduled for our conference room in the month of April.
Staff is working remotely from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, and can be reached at the following to assist you:
