COVID-19 Message – April 6, 2020

Dear Chamber Members and Friends:

We are still in the midst of one of the most serious events in our generation. Please practice social distancing, purchase take-out food from our local restaurants, buy gift cards from shops to use later or shop with our businesses that are operating online. When you have a chance, thank the real life heroes all around us. That includes doctors, nurses, health care workers, grocery store workers, pharmacists, gas station attendants, sanitation workers, mail carriers, and more.

Now is the time to apply for a Small Business Paycheck Protection Program SBA forgivable loan. Yes, the Federal Process is off to a slow start, but it will gain speed and you will want to be in the mix when it takes off. This is a loan that is forgiven if you use it to keep your employees on payroll. For more information, go to www.sba.gov.

If you are a small business or a sole proprietorship, you can apply now. If you are an independent contractor and/or self-employed, you can apply starting April 10.

The Carteret County Chamber of Commerce continues to work for you and pass along relevant information. Visit nccoastchamber.com for the latest updates.

Our staff is working remotely, but is available to serve our members and assist the public from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Thursday this week. Our staff will be honoring Good Friday, and regular business hours will resume Monday, April 13.
