Chamber of Commerce Welcomes New Board of Directors
Derrick Remer, Duke Energy.
Derrick started with Duke Energy in July of 2021 after a 15-year career in local and state government in North Carolina. Spanning an 11-county region in eastern North Carolina, Derrick implements strategies and plans to enhance customer satisfaction, develops local philanthropic strategies and budgets, and handles complex customer and community issues through coordination with other departments to deliver cost-effective business solutions. He earned his undergraduate degree from NC State University, a graduate certificate from UNC Chapel Hill and his master’s degree from UNC Pembroke. Derrick and his wife have two daughters and love cooking and playing with their chocolate lab.
Cheryl Mansfield, Edward Jones Investments.
Cheryl began her career with Edward Jones as a branch office administrator and became a financial advisor in 2016. Cheryl earned finance and marketing degrees in 1999 from Barton College in Wilson, NC. Since 2005, she has lived in Morehead City, NC and has been married to Donald since 2007. Cheryl is very active in business and civic affairs in Carteret County, especially Morehead City and is a dedicated member of Lookout Rotary, Beaufort Woman’s Club and the Chamber. Cheryl is also a volunteer for Downtown Morehead City, helping out with the Alive at 5 concert series and the Crystal Coast Boat Show. Cheryl’s hobbies include boating, traveling, photography and snorkeling and she loves calling Carteret County home.
